No Watson, the puppet master is real. When we discover who is behind The curtain, pulling the strings, I am certain that everything will become crystal clear, including the relationship between such seemingly disparate events.
Through A Glass Starkly by Richard T. Ryan is an exquisite Pastiche, written with a true understanding of his characters. It is an exceptional novel of Sherlock Holmes. Holmes and Watson here are the gentlemen we have known since the late 19th-Century.
Mr. Ryan’s dialogue shows he has the ear of a playwright and he has done his research. The twists and turns of the mysteries make it especially enjoyable for the reader. For me any Holmes novel with the addition of Mycroft Holmes is a positive choice and the comfortable competitive sparing between the Holmes’ brothers, here is softened with humor.
I highly recommend Mr. Ryan’s Through A Glass Starkly, a superb Sherlock Holmes adventure.
