Sherlock Holmes – Terror in London

Luigi Pachì posted: In February, the new apocrypha of GRETCHEN ALTABEF, entitled “Sherlock Holmes – Terror in London”, will be in all newsagents. It’s the no. 138 of the Yellow Mondadori Sherlock Series. My novel, Remarkable Power of Stimulus translated into Italian. This is my third book for Mondadori Sherlock.

Luigi’s version of the plot: the refurbishment of an old London church would not be normally in Sherlock Holmes’ professional interests. If Holmes and Watson accept the request for help from the rector of the priory, the reason is certainly not about the restoration work. While visiting the Lady Chapel during a service the faithful were shocked to find the floor covered with bloody prints. Even imaginative guesses are wasted to explain the macabre episode, but the great investigator demands, as usual, concrete elements drawn from direct observation. On the spot with Dr Watson and the rector, in the chapel with risky candlelight, examines traces of blood that, presumably left by two individuals, lead outward and appear to be from the entrance of a crypt. Armed with lanterns, not knowing what to expect, the three of them descend into the basement. Down there, at the bottom of a stone staircase, a creepy scene awaits them: silhouettes tied to the heavy iron bars of the windows. These are bodies of women, martyred with unheard of ferocity. Horrified, Holmes and Watson vow to bring to justice the monsters responsible for this folly.

Inside you will also find Luigi Pachì‘s usual novel appendix.
